Dwight - President

Dwight Johnson is the Operations Manager and CFO for the Dayton District Council, Society of St. Vincent DePaul. Dwight received his B.S. degree in Accounting from Central State University and his MBA in Finance from Xavier University (Ohio). He is also a Certified Public Accountant.  Dwight has held finance management positions at Avon Products, NCR, Central State University and Ponderosa, Inc. He has been a member of the Dayton Chapter since 1985.

Marlene – VP, Operations

Marlene Johnson is the Senior Purchasing Agent at the Greater Dayton Regional Transit Authority, Dayton, Ohio, where she is responsible for procurements greater than $25,000, including major equipment, construction and renovation projects, and consultant services.  Marelene’s educational accomplishments include an Associate in Applied Science Degree from Sinclair Community College, a Bachelor of Science in Business Degree from Wright State University, and a Master of Science in Administration Degree from Central Michigan University.

She holds the position of Vice President of Operations for the Dayton Chapter of the National Black MBA Association since January 2007.  While serving in this position she endeavors to create an active Leaders of Tomorrow (LOT) program, and to interest the Dayton and surrounding area students in applying for the NBMBAA scholarships available at the high school, masters and doctoral levels.

Michael – VP, Administration

Michael Penn is the Product Line Manager for the brake apply, brake hose and brake systems product lines at Delphi Corporation.

Michael received his B.S. degree in Mechanical Engineering from Ohio State University and a Master degree in Business Management from Central Michigan University.  Prior to joining Delphi, Michael was a research scientist at Battelle Labs.  One of the founders of the Dayton NBMBAA chapter, he has been a member since 1982.

Verna - Treasurer

Verna West is a Fiscal Coordinator for Samaritan Behavioral Health, Inc., an affiliate of Premier Health Partners. Verna received her B.S. degree and MBA in Healthcare Management from Wright State University, Dayton, Ohio. Prior to joining Samaritan, Verna was employed by the Union Carbide Company. Verna is a Lifetime member of the NBMBAA and has been a member of the Dayton Chapter since 1990.

Jacquata - Secretary

Jacquata Long is a Market Analyst with A.O. Smith, EPC. Jacquata received her B.S. degree in Operations Management and her MBA in Project Management from Wright State University, Dayton, Ohio. She has been a member of the Dayton Chapter since 2001.
